Description:

This project provides a school facility for Aspire Public Schools that accommodates a total of 512 students in grades K-8.  School was opened on September 1, 2009.  The property was originally designed and built as a 600 seat facility by the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary as a catholic high school for young women.   The facility encompasses approximately 64,000 square feet on 9.1 acres.  It encompasses a total of 28 classrooms, a full-size gymnasium, library, performing arts center and soccer field.  The facility was constructed in three major phases:  Phase I was built in 1955 and included classrooms, cafeteria/meeting hall and gymnasium.  In 1980 Phase II was constructed to include a 5,000 square feet library and a six classroom building.  Phase III was constructed in 1998 and included a new administration wing with 3 state of the art science rooms and a performing arts center for music, dance and theater programs.

The facility opened with approximately 400 students with full enrollment to reach 688.
