Description: This project is ground up construction of a new facility to accommodate 570 students in grades 6 through 12 for Aspire Public Schools. The subject property is located in an area originally developed for industrial use but which has since evolved into a high density residential and commercial neighborhood through collaborative efforts with the City of Oakland in and private developers. Following extensive environmental remediation to ensure student health and safety, this new facility will benefit Aspire’s existing students who are presently housed in leased facilities inadequate for school growth. The development of this site includes new construction of a two-story 27-classroom building plus a gymnasium, ample space for administration and specialty rooms including science labs, library, art and computer lab. Exterior improvements include green recreational space and outdoor basketball courts.
